Nevadans?

Before anyone else posted I almost mentioned that song. I figured I get a big "HUH???"

And another Aquarius baby here, so yeah, that was my song.

And Bill was not really big on them, but one always reminded me of him and it was the sign he sent me at the gas station. I can't find it anywhere. Tried youtube but nuttin.

OK this is retarded but I can't quote anyone right now and get it to post! I tried dozens of times and am about to run into the hills screaming!!!!! After all the work I put into this one I think I give up on BYC for tonight. Just need to know that all non bolded type below means I am responding to their posts above even though I couldn't quote them...

Ron's comment about how none of the youngsters would have any idea what I was talking about...

*sigh*

But there is hope! Our very own precious Aubrey knew exactly what song we were referring to. Aubrey you are an artist and a scholar. An intelligent woman with a refined taste in music!!!

Hey if I can love the torch songs from the 20s, 30s and 40s etc then I expect others can enjoy music outside of their generation too. I bet Aubrey's not the only one. I bet Lacey knows that song as well!

Pam asking about polish girl...

No she has a few speckles here and there. Like a very light splash.

Aubrey singing a measure of Up, Up and Away

Sing it girl!!!!!

Tyler comment about having no intention of ever listening to the song...

WHAT?!! Can't even give it a listen huh? I am very offended right now! You know Tyler opening up yourself to new experiences and more of what life has to offer works on many levels. Don't be afraid to venture out of whatever previous ruts you may have entrenched yourself in. This world is a big beautiful place with a lot of art to enjoy and music is just one small part of the arts you may find inspiring or uplifting or...

Then again if you know your mind is already closed to it then don't bother. You'll get nothing out of it.

Sheryl comment here...

Love it!!! Both my kids are aquarians and I used to sing it to them all the time.

Tyler comment here...
Ok, let me get this straight. You have no intention of listening to our suggestions but you want us to listen to yours? Humph!

Wolftracks comment here...

Aw man! It's gotta be out there somewhere!

A lot of the new generation just can't understand it at no fault of their own. It's the way they are now. Aubrey had a great upbringing. I think she most likely has a cool easy going family that likes to have fun and laugh a lot. I could be wrong but that's what I see. Big hearts.

Tyler you have a big family and a lot of strict rules while you were growing up. You get to set out and be free for the first time ever, You get to actually find out who you really are. Take it all in and also always watch your life as if you are looking into a window and you see yourself inside having fun. Then you will know who you are.

I have always loved Motown Records. Shoot we always watched Soul Train because it was more like us. The first part of my childhood was in San Pablo/Richmond area. I was always what we would call an oreo. Black on both sides and white in the middle. We had a blast wearing our platform shoes and dancing all of the time and laughing. I will always remember it. Then we moved to Pinole and things changed so much for me. There was so much arrogance so to speak. You had to hang out with the right people. I just didn't belong there. I hated not being around all of my friends anymore. But the best thing about Pinole was when I met John and here we are now.

Ah, to be able to go back just for a moment and just watch how we were.

Good looking chickens and gardens! So impressed!

Well. My broodies chicks are hatched. The less friendly but beautiful Blue Copper Marans (Quorra) hatched out 4 of the 5 she set. Those eggs are from my friend here in town. So she has 2 Blue Marans and 2 EE...or actually they should be OE's because the father is a Splash Copper Marans. The other very friendly and beautiful MaransxEE hen (Lizzie) hatched 2 of her 8 eggs from ke_ben but, alas, the one hatched out of the super dark Marans egg died. Lizzie was so jealous of the Quorra's chicks she tried to steal the chicks from her! Luckily, 2 feedstores in my area got chicks delivered today. I got 2 EE's, 1 Delaware, and 1 Red Turken and swapped out 5 eggs that were not fertile or were early quitters with live peepers. I left one egg in. I couldn't see in very well when I candled it. Lizzie is so happy now. She is such a great momma. The best part of this story? My gamebird mix Casino is sleeping in a nest box as we speak. Sigh. I think I'll try to get some eggs from ke_ben tomorrow or this weekend as we only have about 3 weeks of school left and will soon be headed to Utah for the summer. OR...I saw the NYD hatch roo mate w/one of his girls who is not yet laying...maybe I'll throw in a few more hens for him to romance and hatch out my own!

Hmmmmmm!!!!

re: "Up Up and Away"......

I saw a skit once -- and dang if I can remember where it was -- where they did a rendition of this song as if Bob Dylan sang it. It was hilarious! Made such an impression on my that I cannot now separate the two.....

LOL YOU GUYS. my family listened to hair metal when i was growing up. I hated it. Once i moved out and was on my own i started getting really into 40s and 50s country and rock n roll. Then i met Mark who whoed me all of his motown records and I immediately fell in love. Anything I listen to thats from my generation is usually just good ol punk rock and even most of that is from the late 70s and early 80s. Music has changed so much and thats fine, it just aint my thing. I can appreciate a good musician though, even if i dont like what theyre putting out. I just more enjoy my wanda jackson, sam cooke, and john leyton. ;) Im an old soul!
