Thanks Missy! The gardening info you have shared here has been very valuable. There are others that have shared links to great gardening sites as well. Anyone else want to add stuff? If we get a lot of info we will start a new page just for gardening.

I'm also going to start a new page that will include recipes. I'm not gonna go back and hunt for them but from now on any recipes shared will be put on a recipes page and linked on the main NV page. I can't tell you how many times I've forgotten to link to a recipe listed here and trying to find it again is getting harder and harder.

Now if only i knew what to do with my massive and what seems useless harvest of crabapples of different varieties what are they good for?

Is it possible to let me harvest them? I can them because I can't find the canned ones anymore and we have them for Thanksgiving and Christmas and such! Just let me know.

First let me say that I have no idea what caused your liver damage and I am not judging you for it at all. Thanks Lacy! Actually, since I've started taking the Milk Thistle the other day the weight is dropping too fast now but I know it's the fluid in the stomach area. I don't ascites at all. I really appreciated your help on this.

I was waiting for you to tell what your stomach is doing. If you want me to look that up for you, let me know what's happening and I'll see if she addresses it in this book.

Yesterday I "pigged" out at my friends wedding and it didn't bother me today. I stayed away from the bad stuff and only ate the good.

I've entered "cream puffs" into the "search this thread" box four times already! Twice for gingered plum jam.

So Seth, I just wonder... what does your mom have to say about the crazy groups you hang around with? And the peer pressure to collect chickens, show rabbits, and make jam?

The little sick Marans died the night before last and I think I have another one that doesn't seem right.....

Then one of my 4 1/2 week old Polish drowned in one of the water bucket thing I have out and all the chickens drink out of, even the little guys jump up and drink out of it. Not sure why it would have drowned but of course it was one of my best colored WCB!

Here's the waterer with my EE mom and a couple of her Polish chicks on it. I've never had an issue with it before and the chick seemed plenty big enough to get out.

Here's a cute pick of some of the new Marans....hope I don't lose any more. They're all in the garage, far away from my flock in case it was more then a weak chick.
This obviously was not a suitable brooder!
