I happened to catch, with my camera, one of my pullet
leghorns (Star) trying to make herself comfortable in the
nest box with my broody hen. (Midnight)

Midnight is sitting on "nothing". She has been broody for
over 2 months now and I give up. I have tried to break
her. We are waiting for a few eggs from Perfectly Polish
at this point. None the less...
she defends her nest box like a true Mommy!

Here goes their Saga in pictures.....

Star: " Hey, this looks like a nice place to lay an egg."

Midnight (muffled sounding): "What do you THINK you are doing?? Eww Gross.. you threw up on my head!!"

Midnight (shaking Star): How many time do I have to tell you? This nest box is taken! Next time I will eat you!"

Midnight : "Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Hmmmm? On second thought, maybe I will eat you THIS time!"

Midnight: "Stay out and don't come back!!"
