Never stop!!!!!

Thanks for all those who helped me in this thread. It is greatly appreciated. Today I fed the chickens 10 cups of food in the morning (in bowls: we should be going to the store and buying a few feeders and grit stations soon). By 11:00am when I went to check, they had been eating for about 4-5 hours (I fed them at 6:30am). And there was about 4-5 cups left! I am so grateful for all of you! we have found a solution. So thanks!

Another questions for those who feed all-flock:

What type of feed do you buy for all-flock...is it basically grower feed?
What brand?
I use an all flock pellet from Southern States, but have used Purina Flock Raiser that you can find at TSC. The biggest problem I had with that is I can only get it in crumbles, so there did seem to be more waste than with pellets.

Haven't tried the Naturewise all flock pellet, but seems like that would be suitable - look at the protein % when comparing feeds, some "grower" feed can be quite low on protein. I like to aim for 18-20% if possible.

I'm glad that things are going better! Just keep working at it, you will get this all straightened out:)

Those feeders come in larger sizes, but there is a practical weight limit on how much you can hang.

For a larger flock and once-a-week feeding you need to have multiple feeders at multiple feeding station and multiple waterers at multiple water stations.
We use a 5 gallon bucket with PBC pipes (curved) in the sides.

This is pur feed/water set up. They have access to it 24/7

Glad to hear its gone well! 16o/o layer feed for the whole flock. (The extra calcium doesn't hurt the rooster) I'm not sure what brand cause we get it from our local co-op. But it has worked out fine with the roo eating the same food as the hens.
