New 2.5 Gal Feeder

Four 1.5" holes. Not only does it hold alot (only 2.5 gal), there is alot less waste. And btw, I borrowed the idea from other BYC members.

It looks like an "oil change" pan, but TSC has rubber feed pans that size too

I looked at the rubber TSC pans but they were thick and heavy and the diameter did not satisfy my OCD.

How did u attach the base to the bucket ? Screws or some type of bolts with nuts ? I am thinking of making one of these. Thanks

I've made these. I used 3 - 2 1/2" bolts with washers with a 2" PVC pipe spacer. Put the nut in the bucket. Mine holds 4 coffee cans of feed. 20# maybe? I did not cut the lip off. I found the higher sides reduce wasting feed.

I used four #10 nuts/bolts/washers, attached it directly to the bottom of the bucket and cut holes in the side of the bucket. Maybe next time I won't cut the lip off the pan.

That is a brilliant idea. I just upgraded my watering system and now it is time for the feeder. I am thinking of stealing your idea - hope you don't mind

The metal pan at TSC would be about perfect for a 5 gal bucket feeder. I just wanted a smaller diameter pan for the smaller bucket. I only have five chicks. I'm amazed at how fast they are growing and so far they are only eating about 5 lbs/week.

Will they eat more as they get older?
