Is it a clear bulb instead of red? Many don't like the harse, white light. Also, seems from research that ducks like the perimeter of the lamp, not under. However if their brooder isnt big enough, they cant get to a perimeter. The only difference between the cool side and the lamp side is that the cool side has a lid and the side with the lamp has no lid, can that be why there not going to the lamp?
MHO, 90 degrees is too hot for 2 weeks olds. Shoot for 80. They will gravitate toward the temp they want, and a larger brooder allows that. That’s why many say your brooder may be too small for them. A 5 dollar kiddie pool from the dollar store seems a good brooder size. Just use old cardbords boxes, flattened out, to create higher walls.
and ducks like to snuggle/huddle. It makes guessing at temp hard I know.
