Ha! Brain still works! Knew I had my words correctly! I said AmerIcana, I knew that Aracauna was a pure breed, but didn't know of the existence of Ameraucanas, which I now know are another pure breed. Cool.

Americana is a common term for EE in some hatchery catalogs, which is why I put it down.

From the thread we spoke of:
1. "Easter Egg Layers or Rainbow Layers"...are by far the most common "blue egg layer" sold by most commercial hatcheries, local feed mills, farm supply stores and backyard breeders. This type of chicken is commonly referred to as an "Araucana" or "Americana/Araucana" but the fact is these chickens are neither a purebred Araucana or an Ameraucana but they are a mixed-breed/mongrel variety.
