New Ameraucana flock with PICS !!!!

Henry since you are down so many hens this month by all means do it if you can.
You have plenty of time to add new blood. You can request shells from the breeders and follow the chat on the ABC forum on egg color, since that is what you have always been really interested in. I think all breeders have something they are working toward and all are only too happy to discuss their chickens with you. Speaking from experience since we had a laying flock for years and then suddenly jumped up to a better quality chicken b/c the kids wanted to show, sometimes your goals just change. Life changes. It is however, never hard to find someone to take an Ameraucana hen if they dont suit you anymore!!

So true! Several people have asked to buy Nora and Snow, almost begged, even! Good luck with getting more girls for your guy.

Good luck with your young cock.. I have to agree, he definitely needs blue hen and black hens.. a splash could be interesting if you can find one!

We are new to Ameraucanas.. a year now.. grin.. but.. we have learned that you work with what you have and grow from theere.

I am not an expert, but am attaching pics of some lovely blue hens.. they used to be owned by Vicki Thompson, but she sold them recently. These birds were bred by Paul and Angela Smith in Gainesville, TX. Paul and Angela still breed . This color is called Colombian Blue.

Beauitful the breeder Will Marrow has that color hen on his site. I looked for a splash girl but we will see what I can find this time. I am thinking of selling a few of my hens maybe a Cuckoo Marans and some Delawares to make room for these new girls. I have to think about it though

Correction please, the photo is of regular blue ameraucanas, there is nothing colombian about them.

LOL good I got confused when I heard that it looks like a light or medium blue to me

Thanks I was working with them today and his tail is much less tucked when he is with his ladies.

Wow... I'd love to get a couple more blue pullets from the Smiths to place with the gorgeous birds I'm getting from Jean!

I am simply in love with Blue Ameraucanas!
