Howdy Peeps,
We're new to keeping chickens. My name is Dawne and my husbands name is Barry. We live in Redford twp, MI (a suburb of Detroit)

We bought our bantam chicks at TSC on 3/19. (Straight run, box scooped by employee) They were 1-3 days old. The brooder was an old bathtub in our cold room in the basement. Barry built and extraordinary coop & run.

We luckily ended up with 2 Roos (silver duck wing who started crowing at 1.5 mo old! & a calico Cochin who's only been crowing for 3 wks now) 4 pullets ( silver duckwing, 2 golden seabrights & 1 mixed with feathered legs/foot.)

I've used the breeds page to identify the Seabrights and the "???? Breed" forum to identify the others(so greatful for those that helped.)

Now I'm off to go give the "babies" (Cesar, Nugget, Little, Strip, Parm, Fried) a handful of mulberries

Cheers Y'all,
Dawne

Love the name you have given and you sure do sound like you are enjoying them. Good on Barry building you a fab coop and run. We have a coop contest running right now that you might like to enter ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...-and-run-page-contest-winter-spring-2016/0_30
How to create a coop page and enter the contest is all in the first post.

Wishing you the very best of luck with your birds in the future. Enjoy BYC and all the chicken chat :frow
