Hoping that they ship fine. I am so tempted to drive to Mt. Healthy and pick them up. I ordered from Mt. Healthy this time since the weather was bad and they are close. Super customer service too - this is my first time with chicks from there, so as far as quality, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and see how it goes!
I only have 15 shipping Wed - but 25 more 4 days later from Murray McMurray. I hate to mix n match chicks and hatcheries, but so far we've never had any problems as long as they are just a few days apart, we keep them really clean and fed well so let's hope for the best! We had no choice if we wanted variety. So I'm super excited! I have Aracauna's, Jersey Giants, Barred Plymouth Rocks, Cockoo Marans, Welsummers and some others... can't even remember right now.
How's everyone else doing with babies right now? It's pretty cold here, so I am worried about the shipping. I know that my PO will call immediately, and will call my father if I am already in class. He's not a chicken person, but I have the "nursery" all set up and ready to go all he has to do is get them outta the box and keep an eye on them for a few.. making sure they drink and such. I think he'll fall in love!
My 11 year old and husband aren't as thrilled as me... more noisy chicks IN the house!??? The dog's excited though.. she always thinks they are puppies and tries to mommy them
