New babies, help bonding

I went ahead and uploaded a short video of my daughter with Kai. Thunder and Avalon are chillin in the background. When 3 ducks and my daughter are all in the pool it gets crowded. I think were gonna need a bigger pool.

Hello, I just picked up two Call babies on the 26th. They hatched on the 23rd. Yesterday was our first full day with them. As the day went on, they seemed to be warming up. They'd sit at the entrance of the brooder next to me and peep when I was sitting with them. Towards the end of the day, I picked them each up to do a vent sexing and I feel like I totally ruined any progress. Now they are terrified of me.

Did I completely ruin my chances with them? Is there anything I can do? I tried treats but they just run and hide.

Hehehe....I've no experience of ducklings.... Now, if they were chickens or quail...a small handful of live mealworms would ensure their lifelong friendship and loyalty (as long as the mealworms keep coming...)

I'd say that if you persist they'll soon come around....creatures like this don't have lasting memories and certainly don't hold grudges.

Omigoodness guys. I put them in the bath today and threw in peas for them and they were diving down for them. They did so well! My little hunters!

Typically, when people reference using feather duster they mean the ones with real ostrich feathers.
Not the ones made out of synthetic material.
I have never seen natural ostrich feather dusters be dyed because it could ruin the feathers.
Secondly, the dye used on any fabrics are typically the same, so if you are worried about dye on feather dusters being toxic, perhaps you should worry about dye on clothing and bedding too? And I know ducklings love to nibble my shirt.
Honestly, I would be more worried about the glue used on feather duster (which is usually covered) or the babies injesting any synthetic fibers that may cause a blockage or perhaps strangulation if you do not use one with ostrich feathers...
I have never heard of anyone losing a baby because of a feather duster however. So I would go for it. Just inspect the feather duster to make sure there is nothing obviously wrong with it. Here is a link to how feather duster are made, for anyone interested. It is rather neat.
