Many of you may remember my little ducky from last year named Alfred.

you may also remember that her buddy died when they were a week old. I then bought her two new friends, a buff and another appleyard. At the end of the summer I sold the buff because I didn't want the two boys to hurt each other. Over the winter Alfred and her friend lived in a pen outside with a doghouse. One morning when my mother went to check on them the boy had died. Not sure why, it wasn't even freezing. Since then (January or December) Alfred has been living alone. I felt bad for her, so she lived with a few stuffed animals in the garage. When the swap rolled around this last weekend I picked up a few new babies. (I was going to get one, but then if it died I would be out of luck)
I was told that the black was a Cayuga and the blue is a Swedish. Not sure on sexes on either. They were newly hatched when I got them, so they are about two days old now.

I named them Tooty (too-dee) and Fini (fin-nee) formally Gertrude and Finland respectively. I do have a few questions for you guys.

Are those the correct breeds do you think? When can they meet Alfred?

When can fini and tooty meet alfred do you think? So you think they got fini's breed wrong then?

yea i think they did. I have both Blue and Black Swedish and that is what they looked like as babies. Also i have a Cayuga and she was all black with no white as a baby. I would wait till they are bigger then introduce them slowly. staying and watching so you can intervene if needed. Then when you leave separate them again. Keep doing this for a while.

They can meet, with supervision, but you need to be prepared to scoop up the littles if Alfred is aggressive. They can meet through a fence, also - that is fairly safe. Letting them see each other time and time again before actually being able to touch each other should help. Also, once the littles are old enough to have treats, give them all treats at the same time to help them associate good things with being together.
