I am so excited , I had 15 turkey eggs one was not fertile. So 14 made it to lock down with one uncertain since it had a hairline crack i painted with polish.

12 are in brooder now, one hatched still in incubator and the repaired one I hope it makes it way out its external pipped and moving..This was my first time hatching turkey eggs so i wasnt expecting them all to survive only half...but i got 13 hatched and cheeping about ...I am so happy... here are some pics of the little tykes.

Had to make a make shift brooder as my other i used for my chickens is just to big for them, they just were scattered about not finding their way backc to the lamp

the lone little guy resting and the repaired egg in back.. fingers crossed it doesnt tire out..

Congratulations, that was a very successful hatch! Those are some very cute little ones you ended up with. Hope the other 2 make it ok. Way to go!

Congratulations on the hatch!
I love, Love, LOVE turkey poults, and currently have two little Narragansetts in a make-shift brooder in the family room, from eggs that I rescued from an on-again off again broody hen and finished hatching out in an incubator. I do so hope your little one from the repaired shell has hatched out ok - please keep us posted!

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I lost my runt last night, the one in the repaired shell. Something internal was wrong with it I think. You could hear noise in its body like its lungs making a noise not a breathing noise either. My others i picked them all up and listened and it was the only one with a wierd internal noise . I couldnt get it to perk up after six hours so well one can guess. I cant take watching an animal suffer lets just put it that way and it was my favorite to ...all the others as of now are thriving eating drinkings, and pooping more than my chickens ever did LOL. I am going through paper towels like a mad woman..
