New baby chicks from local feedstore......

Well now, 'twasn't my intention,
but went to purchase some feed,
and came home with16 black, baby chicks.
(WHOOPS!) impulse purchase.

That was yesterday afternoon.

They are all doing well today (tonight).

They are in an area I prepared for my "broody hen" who is setting on 6 eggs.

NO PROBLEMS so far.........

I'll try again. These pix are of my "brooding area" and the chicks I bought on "impulse" Monday, 6-1-09, at the local feed store. All 16 of the chicks are doing fine tonight, Friday, 6-5-09.

Well now, I hope the pix got posted. Also, I have a "broody hen" (Buff Orp) setting on 6 eggs, one of which has hatched and doing well.This weekend will "hopefully" add a few more.

I DID WANT some "black chicks".ha-ha!

I'm hoping that some,or all, are either Jersey Black Giants OR Black Australorps.........most seem like "Giants" because the bottoms of their feet are mostly yellow..but could be something else.

I s'pose it an "impulse LIE" Ha-Ha!

hope it's not too hot yet in Phoenix! (lived there 3 years and never got used to the heat...)

Sorry, you caught me, it's late and I really did mean to type, "impulse buy"... I have no idea where "lie" came from, but you are right, it was funny.

This is the absolute coolest first week of June that we've had in 23 years. It got down to 84 at my son's baseball game tonight. WONDERFUL!
