That's why I can NEVER get any meat animals.... they'd all HAVE to be pets, lol.

So cute!!!
I love goats. They are next on my "want" list. After a new pig pen, a new turkey house, new chicken coops, on and on and on...

Thanks everyone! I'm really, really pleased with how beautiful his coloring is. I was totally expecting a spottyy goat, considering his heritage. His markings are completly symmettrical on his body, like a mirror image.

Here is his make up:

Rosie is 1/2 Boer, 1/2 Nubian

Jack was 1/2 pygmy, 1/2 Spanish Brush.

How we got a perfect little baby out of that genetic mess, I'll never know. But he is perfect! His little horn nubbies are already starting to poke through. This morning he was head butting Rosies Rump as she was eating. She was not amused.

We are going to keep him as a buck, and eventually breed him. That's down the road for sure, but with so many genetics in there, we're not sure what doe to do with.

I'm leaning towards a spanish, but another Boer/Nub x would be pretty too. We ruled out a pygmy b.c I would worry the babies might be too big for her

Wow Helmstead, from you, that is the ultimate compliment! Seriously, your goats are some of the prettiest ever. Thanks!

Aww, thanks!

BTW I saw you asked on another board and no one answered...he's a cou clair with frosting (ie minimal expression of the agouti locus). I would fall all over myself for a Nigi colored like him...

Well, Helmstead, I guess we could meet somewhere in Mississippi/Alabama. I'll bring JJ, you bring your does of choice, and maybe they will make pretty frosted babies!

Yum, frosting.

Thanks for letting me know. Its hard to find a good description of goat coloring on the web.
