How long have they been laying like that?
Probably weak from not being able to absorb their yolk sack properly. Also probably still trying to absorb what's left of it.
You took them out of their shells too soon.

Just wanted to show my current two that were put in the brooder this morning and one more is in the incubator right now waiting to join the other two. Also had a couple questions

My incubator isn't all that great so the humidity was a little on the high side and they needed some assistance (gooey substance inside egg, they were stuck) so all three of the ducklings had a yolk sac still attached to their body. I spent about 24 to 26 hours slowly helping them out, no blood or anything, just the yolk sac.

Now my question, is it normal for ducklings necks to be weak when assisted and unable to stand on their own for a while? I've hatched their parents and they popped out of the eggs walking right away so kind of confused. I know nothing is wrong with the necks its just kind of limp like they are super tired.
Also, is it normal for them to be shedding tiny hairs all over that shirt? Never seen this in past hatches but I always had them on pine shavings so I never could tell.

But the good news is that the yolk sacs are absorbing really fast and they are kicking and active and loud little things. I've been turning them over so they aren't laying on one side all the time as they cant get on their feet yet. View attachment 1676277
Yes..Leave then till they find their legs. Do not feed or water them at all..

You MAY have helped them hatch too soon, but, the point is you tried. It is better to have tried and failed than not try at all. When you fail, you learn. Had yo done nothing, the results are the same, failure but no learning
