new batch..join me!

As an old timer i will candle on day 10 i can control myself
by the way today i had 4 turkeys out of my other bator and i am waiting a few more in 4-8 days as i did not put them in the same day the last two i put in was on 2 of this month so it is 8 to hatch

well, i guess you can say that i put a "batch" in ....LOL

i put 4 white leghorn eggs in an incubator that contains: 4 different settings of california valley quail, 30 mexican bobwhite quail eggs, 2 different settings of red golden pheasants, and 4 bantam eggs.

the other incubator has ringneck pheasant eggs and red golden pheasant eggs, along with 2 "egg-laying" chicken eggs that is in process of hatching this weekend.

I had to wait a couple more days for a few more eggs, but I finally set them tonight! 21 day countdown begins! I'm wondering about adding water? I have the little giant incubator. I also bought the automatic turner. thanks for your help!

Novanod1966, you really did put a batch in, that has to keep you busy with two bators going.

Two more days and then I am going to candle. It will be day 7 and I am getting anxious to see if my eggs are viable. Temp and humidity have maintained so far, so I am hopeful.

can't believe its been a week already! But then on the other hand...its only been a week! I tried candling my last batch of eggs and couldn't see anything in any and yet most had chicks..so I guess I don't know how to candle! Think I will just wait and see!

That's what I'm afraid of since it will be my first time candling. I am going to google pics and videos like GoneQuackers suggested. I'll let you guys know what I find. (or think I find)

Weellll... I couldn't refrain so I candled my 2nd set, I have about 80% with chicks, and a two blood rings, possibly, I left them in just in case. AND I found out today that we are moving---which is pretty sad b/c that means my chicks are going to be sold off as soon as they hatch, we move July so I cant keep them

my first batch in three years and then we end up having to move!

what a bummer! I hate moving! And selling your new babies???so sad! Will you be able to keep your other chickens? Or are the eggs the only chickens? I am addicted to chickens..who knew? I had 3 of my chickens eaten by coyotes yesterday..now I hate letting them out..I'm afraid they will be back for another chicken meal! Happy to say all were there tonight! Do you know where you are moving too?

Moving back to TX from IL, we just decided to get chickens again so the only chickens are the ones in eggs lol funny how life works! We are looking to buy a house with some property so eventually I will be able to get them again. Bummer about the coyotes sorry to hear that :(
