I just hatched a chick and its umbillical cord is still attached. Will it come off by itself? Mamas gave up on the eggs and this one hung in their. What do I do?

it will dry up & fall off on its own. If mom gave up on it, you'll need to remove it to a brooder and keep it warm (90-95 degrees). Get it water, and dip its beak in the water so it knows...you probably know the drill, just thought I'd mention it. Oh, and chick starter!!! Good luck!

the Mommas have 3 other chicks that they are taking care of. I was thinking that I would try to put this chick back in with the others.

I've heard that you can try to sneak a chick in under the broody at night better keep an close eye on it if you do try.
