Latin nidus for "nest" and fugere, meaning "to flee"

time will tell

bigbluehen ,, both feet and barefoot too ,, been years since i been able to put socks on , i might not be able to input image but i sure can craft some language description ...this is quite shaky circumstance ...i have no brooder , i could , some neighbor come to help , just 6 eggs now in the incubator , 3 lady amherst , 3 yellow golden , one wonders what the hatch will be , if any . shipped eggs . rekon 50 percent . i be a lucky individual get a good cock chick. then brooding them in the bathroom ,, haha can you imagine what the cats gonna think . some good fun honey . i sure will keep youns posted on this subject i do not lose the link to the string , i have been trying every day to work on my pens, in the front yard knee deep crimson clover ..i am day 7 of 23 incubate ,, if i can keep awareness , cognizance and contact in a while look forward to the message ... they pippin baby pip pip pip

middle earth . ya sweetheart i know. , i was referencing chic in shell . they pip it [ first break of shell] then they zip it [ open it the shell]
i have never seen this , but in another 20 days i hope to . never done this before i am just doing it by the numbers , just checked the incubator , running at 99.5 F and 57% humidity ,day 7. then the sensor down by the eggs reads a little different , if the kiddys here in the hood hadda help me i would have had a flat [ 100 chick] of ringneck shipped in , straight to brooder , easy done , maybe ,might well market out good , grow out to size and color , put them in little cages and hit up the tourist ,, hey mister y wanta buy a bird ? , any way i got these specials [lady amherst and golden pheasants ] in the incubator , maybe i can make them pets , then got a shipment of peafowl egg inbound , they incubate about 30 days , maybe i can imprint them and make pets out of them , free range them if i can get them up to size to survive free range ,,, then load the incubator full up with bob white quail eggs should those egg be available then [ i am not real sure ] they grow out quick , just turn them out in the woods , for the fall of the year , those who might survive to call to me BOB WHITE ,,, BOB WHITE , i remember last century in my youth i heard them call wild in the woods . i would like to hear them call again before i die

Howdy, :frow and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

Happy :ya to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!

The pheasants will not imprint, the peafowl will imprint. Temp in the bator is ok, the humidity is a little high, would be better for it to be around 40 to 45%, then up it to 55% for the final 3 or 4 days of the incubation period. Do you have independant sensors or are you using the incubators sensors?...makes a huge difference, OME sensors are notorious for being unreliable.
Amherst and Goldens both take 21 days to hatch, you should see pip's on the 20th day....if your incubators parameters are correct.
If you have more questions or need advice feel free to PM me or post on the pheasant forum!

YOU ALL VERY NICE .
day 10 of incubate , i want to candle them however , i fear to handle them ,, i have an auxiliary digital sensor offered by the vendor {GOF] down on the rack , the temps and humidity runs a bit lower on that sensor , smells and looks good to me .
my brooding circumstance is really sketchy , gonna brood in the bathroom , , standard issue brooder ring and light , nice fiber fabric for footing ,
i understand i need to lock down [ remove eggs from the auto turner and bump up humidity about day 18 -19 .. ] then brood 20 days before the pens out of doors , pens are not ready, need help . i am way behind the power curve on this . , but then i am old and sick and done a whole lot of just in time ..

i have plans for pens Galore , i like the quick fit hippy done , 1/2 inch pvc pipe . rebar stakes . tees , 4way couplings , pond netting
allthose materials very inexpensive .
drive the rebar in the ground . fit the pvc to it and Bow it over , use the tees and 4 ways to couple up the pvc frame ,, build a door frame .. spread the pond net , or bird net , lots levels quality on those products ,, wham bam thank you mam , quite a large fly pen ..
old man can not do that alone . and you know one can not hire help anymore. it would tale 2 or three individuals to execute that..

example : https://ladyleeshome.com/diy-pvc-greenhouse/

replace the green house film with pond or bird net . ,, i have made pvc frames like tht before when i was a young man of 60 easy done .. seems like that would be quite the nice fly cage ..
i have other field expediency pens in my pocket but i need at least a safety observer and or helper on execution ., sorry , no help available , no one willing to help an old man .. can not even hire help ...
so for my pens i have Amazon shipped in china built wire frames . not so expensive , perhaps they will be adequate .. 40 inch by 40 inch by 86 inch , and a 40x40x130 ... seem nice . seems a problem to me the wire gap is 1 1/2 inch , so i am making an application of chicken wire around the bottom ,
working slow on that . i rekon those birds might like pens in the front yard in knee deep crimson clover . i kinda wonder ow big those little birds will be , out the brooder .. i am worried about the heat and sun , ... my plan is to cut some of my timber bamboo , make a frame around a nice hedge plant at the front porch , put net around it ,, very nice evergreen hedge plant with very nice roosting shaded all day ..connect to the pens .. 200 inches of run , not got the first 80 inches run set yet,, much less the custom bamboo frames around the hedge ,, ... then consider , i am at day 10 incubate , then brood for 20 days .. perhaps i will make it .. Just in time ,, sure would be nice someone come maybe help .. what ya doing old man, fixing up for these birds ,
