New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

Getting very tall now. One blue partridge male and four partridge males, plus a gorgeous splash partridge pullet who is sold.

Looks like four of the five Brahma chicks with Brandy are male...and the only pullet, a splash, is sold. What is up with the boys this year? They are 4 weeks old.
The older group of Brahmas and BRs are 6 weeks old, again, mostly males, the splash pullet is going with the younger splash pullet to another breeder.

And so many boys, sheesh. In the three groups, I could conceivably have 14-15 Brahma cockerels, plus the 4 BR boys. That larger coop where the 6 week olds are now will be a cockerel pen by default. Good grief.
Wow. You have your work cut out for you finding them all homes, or are there some lined up? Your rooster pen will look like an ostrich pen. I only have some bantam roosters this year, not sure how many yet. I can stuff them somewhere generally. :)

No homes lined up for any of the boys. I sold one male with a pullet. I see at least one pullet in with Bonnie, but can't tell on her others yet. They're only 3 weeks old. I hope there's more than one! I'll have to let the Brahma Boy Band free range on their own to get them out of that little temporary pen later if no one buys a few.

I know people do it and I understand, but I just can't kill a healthy, beautiful, sweet young boy. I can process a mean rooster, but I can't do it to these, just cannot. I'll be feeding a boatload of boys for a long while, I'm sure.
I can't generally butcher any bantam roosters, or really any nice ones, I make accommodations for them. The nasty ones that just grab hens I can't wait to be rid of. No rooster is ever aggressive with me so I judge them by how they treat my hens. Some shenanigans are fine but some aren't. Bantam shenanigans are always annoying but they're too cute, so I put up with them, or pen them up.
