New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

Wow, either some sneaky recessive gene popped up, or the wrong egg was added in, probably the latter.

Yeah, it's weird if it was really two partridge parents. Bash over my Dark hen would give you Dark or Blue Dark Brahma males carrying gold/partridge and/or 100% partridge pullets. I have not seen that those pullets would carry silver from the Dark mother, being that it's sex-linked, meaning she passes that gene to the sons only. So, the partridge son would not have my Dark hen as his mother, can't happen.

I find the splash boy interesting. I wonder what he'll look like when his saddle feathers are in fully. Both splashes are sold, but I do have the lighter blue partridge available and three partridge males who could go if someone needs one.

What do you call the color of the white and red? Sorry, still learning over here...but loving the Brahmas! :love Excited to learn more :pop

Hi! Welcome! That is a splash partridge male. It's just like the splash in blue/black/splash, but with the addition of the partridge pattern, though on the splashes, it's hard to see the pattern.

I am in love. "Splash Partridge." :wee Taking my time before I jump in, my 2 BR girls are teaching me the hands-on stuff and BYC and y'all are just a wealth of knowledge. I would love to eventually be involved in a breeding program. Are there any types of Brahma that you would personally like to see more of out there? Was reading up last month on a breeding program involving Jubilee Orpingtons, so I was wondering if there's anything similar going on in the world of my beloved Brahmas. :D
