New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

After a long hiatus from laying, with molts and almost-broodies, two of the hens are laying again and all are over the molt for the most part. I snapped some pic when I went to close up the barn tonight. I see I missed Cora and Bailey somehow.

They are always so gorgeous. :)

Thanks, Lisa. They got out for the first time in two days this afternoon and really enjoyed it. I let them free range and they took off under some evergreens to dig around. I hate when they are inside a long time, but the Brahmas have less issue with being inside than others at times. They are easy keepers as far as that goes. They just eat for entertainment, LOL.

I do prefer those that aren't big on wandering and prefer to hang out in my shed. Busy birds can be troublemakers. I like big lazy birds too these days.

I have never been a big fan of Brahma, and their stern looking face, but yours always look so good, and not as cranky as others. I love the clean crisp markings too. I see why you keep them. :)

Well, the one with the best beetle brow is B.J., my dark hen. She looks very cranky all the time, LOL. The others, no, they really don't have that stern look.
