New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

I had a young Hawk do exactly the same thing, I think it did not notice the netting over the pen and struck it hard enough to tear the netting away from a pole. The half-grown pullets I had in there all ran inside the coop, and were huddled in there when I came home and got the very upset hawk to fly out the door. Plenty of panic all around.

The four kids went to their new home today with a nice woman who owns one of Bash's sons, a splash partridge named Roman. She only buys stock from me, she says, because she trusts that they will always be healthy. She'd love to have a Barred Rock cockerel out of Hector in the future. If he'd just accept Jane and Maddie back into his group, that goober. Thanks, Rebecca! I known they'll be well cared for.

Ive read through this entire thread over the last month after I got some Brahma chicks from someone local. The smallest is not a Brahma but the others are supposedly. The biggest one looks like it has more of a straight comb though. Wanted to know what y’all thought.

That reddish one looks like my Rhode Island Reds and New Hampshires, but with feathered legs. The coloring is not a Brahma coloring, either. Cute chicksters, though!

Yea I kind of figured he was goin to be off I think the other 3 look pretty decent. Any pullets are goin in with a mixed Brahma rooster I have anyways. Awesome thread glad I stumbled across it.

The red one looks like a Cochin roo to me.

Now, why didn't I think of Cochin? I guess because I keep forgetting those come in red. But, Lisa would know!

One reason I like cochins so much is they come in every color under the chicken rainbow.
