Bash kept doing the open beak/stretched up neck thing like he is having trouble swallowing. He stumbled when coming out from under the nests where he sits in the corner and I picked him up after he fell on his face, began stroking his neck and felt something in his esophagus just under where the wattle skin veers down onto the neck as I palpated that area. It felt like a marble, was movable, definitely not supposed to be there. It reminded me of my Delaware hen, Georgie, who had a crop tumor. I think that's the cause of his weird neck movements, that he feels something stuck in his throat because, well, something is.
Not sure I can do anything about it, but he's been getting some soft food and vitamins because of his sluggish crop. He seems weaker. So, here we go again with the ailing older birds. Any suggestions for his care at this point? This does not bode well for my big hero
