New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

Tried to get pics of Bonnie's injury, not easy without pulling it apart and maybe impeding the healing. At the end there is a short clip of it, which is probably more clear than the pictures (my camera was being persnickety).

The injured wing is facing the camera in the first two pics. Axel is back there and there will be pics of him on their own thread.

It's definitely healing, it was so large that it will just take time. IS that white part bone?
It's bone or cartilage or whatever that is. It's hard. No infection, but she will not go out and dust bathe so I put some Ivermectin pour on drops on her so she would not get mites. I hate that she must be separated for that long, but nothing I can do to make it heal faster and since roosters stand on the wings/shoulder area, I don't think Bash will ever be with her again. Axel is not even bothering her at all, though I took him out to go visit his own peeps, without other roosters present, of course.

It probably was. Too bad you didn't see me wave, LOL.
Bonnie is, well, she's not the same as she used to be when she was with Bash. Neither of them understands why she was removed from that pen. Axel has started trying stuff with her and she's not happy about it. She sits in the corner all the time. She does occasionally go outside with him when I open the door. When she flaps her wings a bit, I can still see that big separation on the wound. I don't think it will ever be close to normal again, unfortunately. You can see the lump at the top of the shoulder under her feathers, different from the other wing top. She hates to be touched, but if my husband can start standing more than 5 minutes, I may make him hold her so I can look at it closer. At this point, because I'm still recovering from my bout with this stupid mystery virus, we're in survival mode. I am doing everything myself so tending chickens' health issues is very difficult. Feed, water and minimal cleanup is all I can manage.
Mina has seizures every day and it walking on her right hock joint now, but she is still more perky than big old Bonnie!

They sure are. I've not been sick in over two decades and this time, I was over the worst of it in 12 hours. My husband is not as fortunate, having Afib, high BP and degenerative disc disease. He did seem better today, though, so I think he's finally turning the corner. It's been over two weeks for him.
