New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

Pics
Yay, all hatched again? I was admiring the beautiful markings on your hens chest.

Yep, every one that was fertile did hatch, which is the usual for the Brahmas, it seems. One was not fertile for some reason, but the other six are all out and beautiful and Brandy is a happy mama for the third time this year.

Brandy is the prettiest partridge hen of all of them. Cora has better markings than Bailey, but Brandy's are perfection.

Caught on camera again. There were about 20 pictures of Bash and the ladies on the game camera this time, plus the usual deer. When it warms up a bit, will try for pics of the new chicks

I like Bash in the last photo, caught in a full run. :)

Yes that Bash is quite the dude

Thanks, I think so, too. He's so calm and easygoing, even more so than Atlas. His chicks are so adorable and already running all over the cage away from mama, Brandy. I guess when my friend gets Lizzie's chicks and she is back with a group, freeing up that pen, I'll have to move Brandy back over there to give the six heathens some more room.

Brandy wanted to take out her chicks today. It was 75* and sunny so out she went to get a dustbath. And I got pictures! Bored yet?

One chick has odd coloring. The top of the head is an ashy gray-I noticed it before it was even dried off. What is the deal with that? Could that chick belong to BJ, my Dark hen? I've never seen a grayish tone in the down like that before, not that I recall. I've heard that there are blue darks, but never saw one as a chick.

@junebuggena , @anac1979 either of you seen ingrown feathers on younger chicks on the toes? I have one chick in another group with what looks like several feathers that grew inward, making what I call "fleshy balls" filled with feathers. It's maybe two or three of them on one toe, I think the middle one. Ill have to get tweezers and pull them out if they don't pop out on their own. Is there a specific cause for that? The chicks are 4 weeks old that I'm talking about.

And this is the coloring I'm talking about, the grayish down on this chick on the far right. Maybe it's just blue, but I don't recall ever seeing one that I noticed was this grayish.

Never bored with your pictures. They look so cute. That one looks like a splash would look like in other breeds, but I don't know Brahma coloring.
