Hector is just maturing slowly - both physically and mentally. He's just catching up with his big size.

Hector just caused a little ruckus with the Brahmas. I heard chaos over the baby monitor. Hector's group and the Brahma group were out together because I've never seen Hector mate the Brahmas, nor show any interest in them.

I couldn't find Bash, called Hector who came out of the barn, but no Bash. I went in and found Betsy up on Hector's roost, then more thumping and Bash suddenly launched himself on top of a trash can that sits outside Hector's pen with Hector in hot pursuit. I chased Hector out and Bash ran into the back storage area. About the time I put Betsy into her own pen, DH came in to see what was going on. I told him that Hector was beating up on poor Bash and pointed to where Bash was hiding. He walked to the back and stood, held out his arms and said, "Bash, come here, baby" (baby, yeah, he's HUGE!). That big giant of a baby rooster walked over to DH and literally danced from one foot to the other in anticipation of being picked up, which DH did and held him against his chest. Bash was quite happy for the rescue.

Earlier, Bash had been on the outside roost beside Bailey when DH came over to pet Bailey. Bash began picking at DH's shirt so DH came over and Bash literally rested his head against DH's stomach to get petted. Oh, my, if this keeps up, he's going to make me completely fall in love with him. He and Bruno could not be more opposite.
