Thanks for your input Speckledhen!!! I'm home all day today so I think I'll leave her out and keep checking. She seems to have already learned to go on the higher branches to get out the way of the peckers. I paid like $20 for my Vetericyn cause I couldn't wait for Amazon but now I know to keep it on hand

The bottle does not match the description, but either way, a bargain, even with shipping. Hopefully, it's really the 8 oz bottle! If not, I'll definitely complain!

Not sure if it will be the same price as they always change when supplies run out, but the seller on Amazon is customrightsellers. And they had killer prices on all the Vetericyn products in stock, including the ophthalmic wash. I think that was $7 +/- plus about $4.99 shipping, which is about half what other folks charge for it.

One more question! If my chickens seem ok all day after reintroducing Sweetie Belle, should they be ok at night, or should I separate her at night for a couple days?

She's probably safest at night when they're less active and cannot see anyway.

Awesome thanks again!! I'll let her sleep with everyone tonight then assuming it goes well the rest of the day, and then probably lock her up when I go to work tomorrow.

At least four of the five Brahma pullets are laying. Got four eggs today. Not sure if the other is laying, too, or just hasn't yet today. One is larger and wider than most, definitely hatchable.

Well the hawk was back today. I came home from school and saw my favorite hen laying on her side with her side cut open and a lot of her breast, crop and neck/face was eaten. Yet again the hawk had time to eat. So from this, my conclusion is that my roosters didn't do anything yet again. But I do know they aren't the only way to stop that I am going to make some adjustments to my run to help deter the hawk. I've heard that if you tie strings around the run and hang cd's that it will help deter the hawk because Hawks need a clear flight path to hunt.

Now that the Hawks know where dinner is, they will continue to come by. You might consider confining your birds to the coop for a few weeks until they move on. You could also provide shelters for your birds - boards over boxes, loose brush piles, tarp tents.
