New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

I hope not that is sad... 🙁
Thank you. I hope not, too, but already four of his hens have passed on so she is on borrowed time at 8 years old. I just don't want her to have a crop issue the last days/weeks of her life and not be able to eat, bless her heart. She was so feisty until three days ago, but this is how it goes with chickens dying a natural, old-age death, the sudden out of the blue body failing symptoms.

Sickness and inevitable death are really the only bad things about keeping chickens... 😥 They are still worth the heart ache! 🙂

Cora was gone when I went to open the barn She didn't even flap, just was sitting on the roost shelf with her head hanging off it. I had to dig a hole for her since I didn't have one prepared other than the one I made for Bash two years ago. She didn't need one that big.

I moved Brandy and Bash into Mace's pen where he was living with the older three BR hens because Bash, after losing five of his six hens, didn't need an 8x8 pen; the 5x8 made more sense.
