New Brinsea Bator - $99 OMG

Quote:
I think it uses "autocraddle" like other Brinsea bators.
This thing just tilts the whole bator automaticaly, it can be done easily by hand if you don' want to spend extra money.

$99.00 is a bargain for a nonstyrofoam quality bator, I am tempted but the capacity of only 24 eggs cools me off.

To begin with the Genesis doesn't have a humidity display either
so that doesn't apply.

Assuming it uses the same fan and has the temp stability of the
Oct 40 then it surpasses the Genesis or LG in temp and air movement.

It's made of plastic so it is more durable than the Hova or LG and may
even be dishwasher safe.

It may hold less eggs but it has a much smaller footprint than the LG
or Hova so it fits in a smaller place and takes up less space.

Maybe this is trival but to me it looks like a bator too, not a cheap
cooler.

I'm partial to Brinsea. I've had a Brinsea Oct40, 3 loaded LG's, and I
still have PerfectlyPolish's Hova Genesis that I borrowed.

You also said you will have a better hatch with a Hova than that LG
you have. I fear you are setting yourself up for failure with that
mindset. Any of the 3 bators will give you a good hatch rate if you
do your homework and the eggs are good.

I have a brinsea pro 20 with auto turner and humidity module. I LOVE this thing! I have had it for several years but just started incubating recently. It keeps temp perfectly. I had to fiddle with the humidity but once I got it, it was great.

Oh man...So the borrowed LG could be ancient history with one click on my Brinsea wish list? I mean, y'all did say we needed testers, and I say anything for science. I don't really _need_ to pay my bills this month. They'll still be there next month.

are my priorities shifting, or does everyone on this forum just make me think I'm normal????

No brainer comparing to any styro warm box.

Can you compare a Caddy to Ford Pinto ?

Only room for 24 eggs is the only thing I see that will be a problem
for some people.

For me, only being able to fit 24 eggs keeps me in check. For some
reason I lose control and fill bators.

Awesome, thanks everyone
I am well on my way to chicken addiction.
My Oct 20 is on the way, soon to be followed by some gorgeous eggs. Hopefully to be followed by some darling chicks.
