New bunny owner....double bunny hutch is done! pix inside

No, they go in their litterboxes!

After losing the first bunny to the heat stroke issue, I worry about putting them outside.....so they will just have to be happy inside....I may make some outside pens for good weather, but they will stay mostly inside.

Been 3 months since I updated! All is well in bunny land. Monroe is enjoying his hammock....Stella never used hers, so she gets a fluffy bed to sit in.

I am considering attaching an enclosed litterbox to the outside end and cutting a little hole for them to go into it. Might cut down on the mess and also would give them more room. We'll see!

I did swap them (just tonight actually) so that Stella is on the bottom and Monroe on the top. It is easier to hang the hammock from the top and Stella is so jumpy, I had to keep the top half covered to give her "dark areas".....so she will do better in the darker bottom anyways.

Crazy bunnies.

Very nice! Glad it is working out for you! I may have to copy that cage! Were you thinking of adding the litterbpx off of the side? Almost like a nest box for hens? If you do I would love to see and update pic when it's all done!

That is a great cage. I have a blue (grey) lionshead male and two blk dwf females and one plain old brown female who is kinda small like the dwfs. I have been thinking of breeding the lionshead to one of the blk dwfs to see what I get.

How cute are they and very nice setup you have there.

I have my house bunny in a double stacker Ferret Nation cage and I never thought of putting in a hammack. I'll have to give one a try.

I do have a corner litter box for Nesa that I'd recommend. Fits in a corner saving a lot of space. I put wood pellets in the bottom that does a great job at obsorbing liquid. I got it at Petsmart - see here: http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2752717

The
challenge in the beginning was finding the corner she wanted to use. Once she chose the potty spot, I put her food and water in the other corners so she wouldn't use those.

Yes, I was going to build a little shelf for each level and put an enclosed tub on the outside, then cut a little "popdoor" of sorts into the cage, so they can go out into the litterbox. That will give them the full 2x4' floor space per cage.

I use the wood pellets in there as well. They work great! I used to use the little corner boxes, but like these better. The others were too small and got disgusting quick.

My niece is 2.5 years old and was over today. Here is a good picture showing the size of these cages.

Stella the blue Rex is for sale! She isn't great with the litterbox and is going to ruin the carpet in there........she has random episodes of peeing and pooping everywhere. FREE, pickup in East Tennessee Knoxville area.
