Having lurked for the past several weeks, I decided to sign up and actually start participating. I'm new to the backyard poultry movement, but I'm really excited to be doing it!
So, being the lazy poster that I am, I'm just going to run down the list of questions from the sticky.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am brand new to chickens. I don't think I've even so much as encountered one since elementary school field trips to a petting zoo. But I got my first four chicks last Friday.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Four chicks, two ducklings (and four more on the way from the hatchery).
(3) What breeds do you have?
Chicks: Salmon Faverolle, Black Star, Araucana, and Cuckoo Marans
Ducklings: 2 unknown (bought from the feed store...we think one is an Indian runner and the other may be a Pekin), 1 Khaki Campbell, 2 Indian runners, and 1 White Crested.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Friends who are also embarking on this adventure.
I'm skipping the last two questions. I don't feel like drolling on too much about myself at the moment, but I'm sure I'll address them eventually.
