New Chick, is this normal??

Update: Her neck isn't looking any better, but she seems to be acting about the same as the other chicks.

Last night and twice today I gave her selenium tablets crushed up and mixed in water. I also poked a hole in a vitamin E capsule and dripped about half of it on her beak at each treatment. I'll continue this regiment 3x's a day until I see noticable improvement. I've also been giving her water from a dropper every couple of hours. I try giving her food at those times too, but she's never taken it. All I can do is hope that she's eating at other times. I am hopeful that she'll do just fine!

Thanks for the update.

I'm sorry to hear she is not improving. Do the best you can to keep the fluids going.

Vitamin E is the main treatment for Wry Neck - the Selenium helps with the uptake of E. You may want to reduce the Selenium and increase the E.

It sounds like you are doing everything you can for her. Sometimes, even with extra care, they just don't seem to improve or start a slow decline. I hope she start to get better soon.

Final Update: Twister, what we named our little twisted neck chick, died overnight. She never did eat and the supplementation wasn't enough. We tried our best, but it didn't fix the underlying cause.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement!
