I had a chick hatch yesterday morning, it didn't look great big belly, quite bald also the skin was like a blister with fluid under it just above one wing
It couldn't get off its back so we supported it in a toilet roll section

Today it's fluffed up, no mushyness around its belly button
But it's not walking well, it drags its bottom along

Its legs and feet seem fine if I turn it over they waggle about, no curled toes or splaying
But he just can't seem to lift his weight up to walk

I did a video but lost it!
Anyone else had this?
Any ideas?

I think I had a similar situation with a baby Cochin. Her butt was too heavy for her and she had to drag it. She got stronger in a few days, but what I did to help her was to hold her butt up while she walked so she could get used to walking.

Thank you I'll try that
It seems happy to sit under the electric hen so I need to keep getting it out for food and water
Looking more closely sometimes its toes look limp and curled in but other times they are flat and open,

As they are a friends hatching eggs I'm going to keep this one myself and see if I can help it,
I'm not happy about it going to a child, or they would probably just kill it,
I'd rather give it some time and see how it goes
