new chick

my hen has just had her first chick and is lovely am over the moon.But it looks like she does not want to no, may be is just me as i is new at all of this i just want to do the best for her and the baby.Hope someboby can help me from worrying many thanks . Also how and when can the chick be sexed once many thanks x

Is the chick inside or outside with the hen? What breed? Some chicks can be sexed from hatching, but it really depends on the breed. If the hen it pecking the chick or just trying to ignore it or not calling it over for food then it could be ignoring it. I hope all goes well

cheers mate the breed is Bantom and the hen just sits on the chick and they are inside the coop hope this helps

When did it hatch? If it hatched less than 48hrs ago this is normal. Bantom? I have never heard of one of them?
