Hi! Your post got me thinking about a few friends who also suffer with PTSD, but because of allergies can not have dogs. I did some "Googling" and found this....

If you're a VET, (I am!) this may interest you as well....

And I found this article.....that says, "Chicken owners can apply to work with an organization called Intermountain Therapy Animals, based in Utah. You and your chicken will be screened for suitability and if you’re deemed to be suitable, you can proceed onto the team training course." (3rd to last paragraph)

At the end of the article are links that you might want to read....I am.

Good luck!

Thank you so much!! Definitely some good information there. I am not a vet but out is what I have always wanted to do growing up so I have sent much time learning as much as I can. My crowning achievement, a parvo cure that has a 100% success rate so far (10 dogs). I find it all incredibly interesting. As a vet you might know something I am curious about. I have a girl born with a birth defect of an eye that won't open all the way. Can it be corrected? It is fully fuctional otherwise.. It isn't a big thing of it can't. It didn't hurt her other than messing up her place in the pecking order. She would be top bird otherwise. Thank you so very much.
