Help!!! New at this whole chicken thing. How big of a coop do I need for 12 chickens and will pressure treated wood hurt them I need all the help I can get plus I don't know Boston build either

anywhere from 24-48 square feet, depending on the size of the run. The minimum space for outside is 10 square feet per bird ( this is when you need a 48 sq ft) If the run is twice this size, then you can build a 24 square feet coop.

Ok what about treated lumber will it hurt the chickens?

I've heard not to use it inside the coop, but using it for the run is fine.

I wouldn't worry about treated wood, it is treated differently in modern times than it used to be. I am using it for my floor joists in my coop however the birds wont have access to them, the inside is not going to be treated just because I was too cheap to buy it. The only dangers I have heard from treated wood is burning it and inhaling the fumes or smoke and possibly from inhaling dust from cutting it.
