Hello and welcome to BYC. I'd suggest getting only 6 hens. Anymore and assuming winter will confine your birds to the coop for even a few days of the year and the overcrowding could result in negative behaviour. Nice one - you're all sorted, thenI meant to say Half dozen birds, the run has a roof and will have 3 solid walls come winter. plus underneath the coop is wide open and run space as well about 18" underneath.
