Hello everyone! We adopted 6 hens last weekend from a friend who is reducing the size of her flock. I never imagined how much fun raising chickens could be! This site is full of very useful information and I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time here!!

I hope you feel glad you signed up! In our flock we have great people and it is always great to have a new member:) In our flock, we have no pecking order!

By the way, not saying that you will do anything bad, but no fowl play

Just brought home "the girls" on Friday, a RIR and lavender Americauna. They're so beautiful and I love their gentle voices. They were in a big flock and I'm wondering if their's anything I can do to socialize them more quickly. I'm giving them small amounts of scratch and talking to them when I do.

Do not forget, not to much scratch!
