New chicken keeper.

@Kipntig - Welcome to BYC to start! :welcome

I am so sorry for your recent losses, but hope being here on BYC can help you read up on more information to help you treat your flock and get them healthy again. Don't hesitate to ask about anything going on with them. What type of chickens and ducks are you raising currently? Best of luck in helping them recover and prevent further loss.

Thank you. I am terrible because I chose the hens by colours, so have 2 black, 4 grey speckled, 2 orange/brown and 2 white. One rooster is white, have no idea what the other is but he is handsome. The two I lost were dark grey pretty birds. They were all meant as pets. The ducks are white, also pets. Never intended to harvest any of them.
The one little chick that died was black/grey. The other one is now inside as I don't think Mum was keeping it warm. She got tired of the broodiness as it appears other hens were depositing more eggs. She started off with 3 but ended up with eleven so I separated her from the other hens. She sat on the other eggs a week after the 2 little chicks hatched. I tried candling the eggs and got rid of quite a few, which didn't seem fertile. She abandoned the others eventually.
