New Chicken Lady here that only ever wanted dogs

Hi!

I’m excited to learn as much as I can and enjoy the journey! We just got baby chicks this week, and we have 7 month old chickens we bought recently from a local farm. We wanted to start with older chickens so we could have eggs. I am loving watching the different personalities and seeing the older girls enjoy eating the greens in our garden and explore the land. The chicks we have are an Easter Egger, 2 Barred Rocks, and a Buff Orpington. The 7 month olds are Cinnamon Queens. Nice to meet everyone!
Welcome here , this is a great place to hang out. We are all true animal lovers here, so we can all identify. I joined 3 years ago and I've been taught so much from the members of this forum. I have 2 dogs and my chickens are goofballs with so many different personalities! I love hanging out with them ... it's peaceful, and entertaining at the same time. I'm glad you entered this adventure you will love it. Oh yes there can be tough times, but same with dogs, or any other pets. Enjoy they grow so fast!

Thank you! It is peaceful and extremely entertaining. Our English bulldog has peeked in at the chicks and licked his lips. He will be slowly integrated with them. He doesn’t care about the older girls they all do their own thing outside. How do your dogs do with your chickens?

Hi! I see you must be a Doberman lover. We have been looking into getting one someday. I’m doing a lot of reading and watching videos about them. I had a friend that had them. Beautiful and intelligent dogs.
I'm on number 6. All adopted. They are incredible dogs but 40% of them suffer from dilated cardiomyopathy. I've lost 3 out of 5 to it and think my current gal has it. I obviously still think the breed is worth it.
