How lucky you got a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte without even knowing what a beauty would await you. I got my Marietta from someone who was downsizing a flock. I knew she had a gorgeous BLRW and had to take two other hens to get Marietta (okay, that wasn't much of a sacrifice, really).

As far as gardening goes, I try every year, and every year, Mother Nature thwarts me more often than I would like. One of my saved gardening pins is this quote: "One of the healthiest ways to gamble is with a spade and a package of garden seeds." Hope you have a better growing season this year (115-plus! Wow!).
