I do not think she is a barred rock. I believe she is an olive egger. Her legs appear to have a greenish tint.

I agree with the other posts. Chickens are flock animals. I know you said your neighbor has chickens but I think at least a couple to keep her company would be good and then she would have her own flock mates. You only need one male if you plan on hatching in the future otherwise no male needed for eggs. You will find a lot of good information here Good luck with you bird and have fun...
