I have retired and decided I want to have a few hens and a rooster . I bought a really nice coop... it's been delivered.... the fence is going up around the yard... Now I need help finding chickens. I want pullets that will be ready to lay soon but have had a hard time finding them.. and the prices are outrageous.... I am wanting heavy hens like the Road Island Reds.. brown and colored eggs.. I live outside of Bryan College Station.

I am also looking for a lot of advice!

Welcome to BYC. Enter your state in the search bar at the top of the page. Do an on site search, locate your state thread, and perhaps someone there can help you establish your flock. Understand that most frequently cheap birds in the long run are not a good buy. Good luck in establishing your flock.
