New chicken mum from Australia

Even still you may have to double wire to prevent foxes cause even in rural areas they do come around
Oh yeah it is fox proof. I would be surprised if anything got through the coop at the moment, we've even paved around the outside so you can't dig under, and we've put UV panelling up in some of the weaker areas to reduce the heat on super hot days ( though still enough ventilation) . It's pretty much a forte right now. They only way I could see a fox getting through is if they learnt to open the latch. But I doubt that, it's double latched ( I would actually say it's over done), and they free roam all day cause I work from home so I can physically see them during the day.

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. Hope you will enjoy it as much as we do :wee

Wild birds can bring in parasites as well as diseases.

Yeah I'm trying to be vigilant with checks and prevention, though it's my first time with birds so hopefully I can identify the signs, the pigeons are actually domestic free roaming. The sparrows and everything else are wild though.
