Hiya :frow
Nice to meet you!
:welcome

You might want to really think about (and research) about the effects of wild birds in your yard. I Used to feed and water too! The possibility of transmitted disease for me was scary (poop in water) but by far worse is the raptors & predators that love to hunt and eat other birds. I had to rethink how I created a environment that was hazardous to my girls. Enjoy your new babies chickens are so much fun!! Best wishes

Welcome to backyard chickens so glad you joined! How is your flock doing? my flock Is doing great! Hope you enjoy this site as much as we all do!
My flock is going great. Apart from one bird that had to be put down due to basically being old and sick (that was a post I put on this site originally which everyone was so helpful with) but other than the being thrown in the deep end in my first two weeks of having chickens everything has settled down a little and maintaining the flock is becoming easy, enjoyable and doable thanks to everyone's advice!

Welcome to BYC. I'm glad the website has been useful to you so far, and I hope that continues. I wish I had Australian wild birds visiting my yard. They must be beautiful.
Sometimes it's gorgeous to watch the birds especially in the rain when they jump into baths and clean themselves but other times they're a little bit of a pest, they eat the chicken food, they poop everywhere, they get spooked so easily, plus the potential of disease and predators. But they are pretty to watch and there's different types every day
