New chickens

I love my buff orpintons. I got 4 of them when they were 2 months old. They follow me around like puppies and let me hold them. You asked about cleaning your coop. We have a cement floor and a poop board running the length of the roost a couple of inches below it. I keep that poop board covered with a few inches of play sand. Each morning I scoop up the poop from the sand using a cat litter scooper. So easy! Takes only seconds. I put the poop in our compost pile. Since the floor is cement I just give it a sweep when needed.
Good luck when you get your chicks. They make the best pets ever!!!!!!!

We have ISA browns and Rhode island Reds. I don't know if they are big or small compared to other breeds but the ISAs are so sweet and friendly. The reds can be but they dont seem to want to be touched most of the time. The ISAs will jump up in your lap if you have something yummy for them. They all follow us all over the yard and want to be apart of whatever we are doing. They are great pets,
