I picked up a box of 10 polish chicks from the post office yesterday morning. Their eyes were not like this at first. Are these injuries from being pecked? One of the chicks is running around making all the other chicks yell. Pecking, grabbing fluff, wings, and toes. How should I treat this? I have veterycn eye wash if that helps. What would make a 3 day old chick act this way? Or is this some sort of illness and the bullying is normal? Basically every chick has an eye issue suddenly except the bully. I need advice.

I set up a separate brooder for it but now it's screaming at the top of its lungs at 3am lol. Anything I can do to calm her? I wiped everyone's eyes with veterycn eye wash using a q tip. Is there maybe an easy to find antibiotic for eyes that is safe for chicks?

Terramycin can be used on the eyes of the chicks. And for the screaming one, try to find a feather duster or a small stuffed animal toy and put it in with the chick.

Terramycin can be found at many tractor supply stores and feed stores, no prescription required. If you can't find it, then use plain neosporin. Sometimes a small, unbreakable mirror can also help for a chick that is alone, to give them company.

Everyone's eyes have healed just fine! Thank you for the recommendation because tractor supply did have it in stock. The other chick calmed down eventually with a parakeet mirror and a little stuffed toy. She was reintroduced and stopped the eye pecking thank God.
