New Chicks! PICS!!

It was very interesting, Jeffrey. She hatched the 10 eggs in a bathtub in the pasture! And they had odd toe numbers too. One chick had 4 toes on one foot and 5 on the other. They were pretty cool.

Thanks, SE! I love seeing hens strolling around the yard with their chicks, its such a beautiful site. I didnt even see them at first! They blend in really well with the wood,lol. Thanks, the Marans is so sweet and she lays BEAUTIFUL eggs!

Airmom, BBred is the color, and game is the breed. BBred = Black Breasted Red. Im pretty sure the mom was and Old English Game. They are fiesty birds, and make awesome moms. And I really dont know if greeness is a word,lol.

I guess so, Airmom! Her siblings werent like that at all. Some had crests, or foot feathering, or black skin, but she came out pretty pale. You never know what you are gonna get! I guess Chicken Breeding is a like a box of chocolates too!

Haha, good luck with that! You'll get it after a while, it can take some time to understand all of the lingo that goes with chickens!​
