They're either welsummers or barnvelders...it's been several years since I've had welsummers hatch and I've never hatched barnvelders. I looked at feathersite and the chicks look similar. I've got another batch of just welsummers due to start hatching in a couple of days, so then I can compare them. Whatever they are I hope they're pullets because they came out of some very dark shells.

After this week's collection, I will be gathering Blue Orps for my own hatch, finally! As you know, I haven't been able to get more than one or two at a time because of my customer orders. I'm also going to get some Barred Rock eggs from my friend Kate's flock again. I can hatch my own, but this way, none of my BR girls will be related to my two BR roosters, Hawkeye and his little son, Gabriel. So the next Orp and BR hatch will go in the bator Dec 14 or 15.

THanks Katy, they are soo cute!!! I think baby chickies are just adorable
